After a woman chooses life, she may be faced with many obstacles along the way to delivery and after. So many times, her family, the father, or her own self-worth is what was driving her to seek an abortion.

Our STAR (Self-Transformation and renewal) program seeks to fill in the gap left in her heart by providing her with a community of women who will be her sisters and support her in her ongoing journey of life, regardless of the pregnancy outcome. The women who come through our centers are offered to enroll in our STAR program, which helps build community and fosters a family dynamic that will help the woman navigate the difficulties of parenthood - some with many children, others mothers for the first time. The women meet several times a week to learn life skills such as budgeting, cooking, and nutrition. Furthermore, they are formed as persons in painting, sewing, group sharing, and service programs. They learn how to communicate with their children, and our yearly themed calendar gives them the opportunity to participate in family traditions that so many of us take for granted.

When they come to these events, they earn "stars" that they then redeem at our "Baby Boutique", giving them the dignity of earning for their children and providing new clothes, clean diapers, and nutritious formula and food for their babies. As one of our mothers put so well: "it is not just a hand out, it is a helping hand up!"
